BROKE DOWN - A LITTLE DELAY

We were hooking up to leave Rob and Heathers, but the Jeep's alternator had froze up.  This happened Sunday and only the NAPA parts house was open and of course they did not have one.  On Monday morning I called around and could not find one in Ely.  Have one on order and it will be here Tuesday morning.  So we are checking out Ely a little more.

Visited where they used to make charcoal in the ovens below.

Saw quite a few antelope out in the sagebrush.

Below are a few pictures from CJ's cell phone.

Going up Lost Trail Pass.

Snow plow pushing rocks off the road from a flooding creek.

HEADED SOUTH

Headed south on the 6th.  Stayed at Jackpot, Nevada the first night.  Roads were pretty slick going over Lost Trail pass.  Lots of slush part way up and down - vehicles are really dirty.  Just south of Salmon there were places where the water was going over the highway.  A snowplow was being used to push the rocks off the road so cars could drive through the water in one place.  The rest of the roads were good, but we drove in the rain a lot.  The northern rockies are getting a lot of moisture this year.  Headed south to Ely, Nevada where we are staying with Rob and Heather.  Their daughter Maisy has sure grown since we saw her last.

Some snow near McKay, ID.

A pit stop at a campground near a frozen reservoir.

Mountains west of Wells, NV.

Heather and Connie in the remodeled kitchen.

Maisy loved throwing sticks for Zeph.

Practicing for T-ball.

These two got along great.
