AND MORE PICTURES FROM ROOSEVELT LAKE AREA

Here are some more pictures.

Our campsite.

A yucca plant getting ready to bloom.

Zeph and I on a little hike.

Connie sent this picture to some friends and said she finally found something in the desert that was older than me!!

The red rock canyons in the background is the Parker Creek Canyon and this is where the creek goes through some more rocks down to the lower elevation.

My hiking partners.

Someone quite awhile ago shot this saguaro with an arrow.

We decided to hike down in the canyon and see how far we could get up stream without wading.  It was a scramble to get down to the water and we did not get very far.  Could have gone further if we wanted to wade.

Georgine saying we have to go up that now!!

It got pretty narrow at the end.

MORE PICTURES FROM ROOSEVELT LAKE AREA

Lots of hiking and exploring going on around here.

More pictures of Parker Creek Canyon.

The insides of a cholla "fruit" from last year's flower.

The old lines that are still on the pole.

Pretty sure this is a stone ice house or cooler house.

Roosevelt Lake.

We have to go over this bridge to get up where we like to camp.  Our camper measures 12 feet exactly so we had only 3 inches of clearance.  We went real slow the first time we went over it.

Jet contrails in the morning sunrise.

Zeph cannot understand why I have to stop and take so many pictures on our walks.

Big prickly pear with our camper in the background at our new camp.

First sunset at our new camp.
We really like this camp because there is hardly anyone around.

With all the water this year, the saguaros are really fat with stored water.

There are some corrals in the wash just below us.  They have water lines with floats on them for the cattle.  This is all forest service land.

Typical Arizona corral fence.  Lots of stays.

My favorite hiking hat.
