SEE MONTANA TOUR II

Connie and I continued our fall "See Montana" tour in the Rocky Mountain Front.  It is an area I have never explored and neither has Connie.  I will tell you it is really worth taking a trip there to check it out.  We were not able to kayak Gibson Reservoir as it was way to low.  We would have had to carry the kayak quite a distance to get it into the water.  And it looked a little muddy to me.  But that area was very pretty.  We stayed in an RV park in Augusta because it was supposed to be raining all afternoon and night.  Nice little RV park and very reasonable.  And Augusta is a very friendly town and we had a great supper at the Buckhorn bar and grill.

The Rocky Mountain Front in the clouds and a few showers.

Gibson reservoir.

Not many people around this time of year.

The dam at Gibson.

Quite a distance down to the water.

SEE MONTANA 2019

Connie and I try to take a trip in Montana each fall and we call it "See Montana 20XX" so of course this is See Montana 2019.  This year we are headed over to the Seeley Lake area and to the Scape Goat wilderness area over by Augusta, Montana.  We stayed at the Alva Lake Campground near Seeley Lake and paddled some on Alva Lake.  The weather was not the best but we sure had a good time.  Paddled this lake before a number of times.  Then we headed over to Augusta and are staying at an RV park there for a night as it is supposed to be raining here tomorrow.  We will see what the weather brings as far as where we camp tomorrow night.

My two kayak partners.

 Just pictures around Alva Lake.

The island where loons nest.

Some angry looking clouds.

At the head of the lake are some beaver dams.

At the end of our kayak.

I really like Montana when all the tourists leave!  We shared this campground with 3 other outfits and that included the campground host!

We did have our shar of rain and this is a picture of the rain on the lake with a duck or two thrown in.
