LAST POST OF SOUTH 2020

Packed up and left Roosevelt Lake and headed north.  Things were closing down around there as they wanted everyone to leave and head home or stay at home.  Spent the first night at Lake Meade National Recreation Area, the second at Jackpot, NV then arrived home the third night.  A rather short trip this year but a good one.

This is the "A" Cross road that goes across the Tonto river but with all the rain they had to close it.  It is one of the main ways to get on the east side of Roosevelt Lake.

The main river channel is another 1/4 to 1/2 mile down the road.

An unusual Saguaro.

This is a place we have camped many times over the years.  It is pretty hard to get to but great views.

Owls clover in the forground.

A hedgehog cacti.

Connie's sisters gave her this "selfie" stick so we had to try it out with my camera.

A little snow on the peaks by Lake Meade.

Some big rig motorhomes that are camped near the lake.  Rumor has it they were just waiting out the virus.

FOUND A NEW HIKE NEAR ROOSEVELT LAKE IN ARIZONA #1

Connie and I were out checking out some Forest Service roads yesterday and saw what appeared to be a narrow canyon.  We decided to check it out and found a great little hike with lots of colorful rocks.  We named it Pretty Rock Canyon.  Not very long but was worth the hike over to it.  Sorry, no coordinates or directions given.  We are still camped east of the lake and it is raining today.  Hope it stops soon as it will take a few days to dry out the roads enough to get out of here. But we have good books to read and plenty of food.  Toilet paper may be a problem though as there was none in Globe when we went through a few days ago.

Zeph way up there making sure it is safe for us to continue!

Lots of pretty rocks all over the place.

Big saguaros.
