LOTS OF ELK

Got call from my brother first thing this morning and he told me he had a bobcat going by their house and 40 elk.  Called again and said the neighbor was down changing his sprinkler pipes so the elk turned back and were headed our way.  I went over and sat on the cabin porch and took a few pictures of them going by.  Don't know where the bobcat ended up. That is the first one we have seen around here.

They were pretty much in single file as they went by.

After we fed the horses we went for our walk up to the east of our place.  We saw elk, don't know if they were just part of the original herd or some new ones.  They were just above the power lines and there were only about 20 head.

On our way back to our place we came upon a pretty large bunch on Jenkins Lane.  They were in the thick trees so don't know how many there were.  So we don't know if we saw two different bunches or just one that had split up.

A little cottontail was also watching the elk.
