Went to the Senior Pro Rodeo last night and a friend from my college days was competing so went down by the roping end and had a nice chat with him. Also went down this morning for the "slack" - when they have too many ropers for the evening performance so rope in the morning. Helped him warm up his roping horses and caught up on the news of the past 40 years. Wow - has it been that long since I graduated from college. He is from Cardston, Alberta and has been involved in the sport of rodeo since college. And has done quite well over the years I might add. Last night, he and his wife won the ribbon roping where the guy catches the calf and the lady grabs a ribbon tied to the tail of the calf then runs back to the box where the cowboy started from. They won with a time of 10.5 seconds. Pretty fast for folks over the age of 60! He did well in the calf roping also. Anyway, we had a good visit and promised to stay in touch.
Bill catching a calf in today's competition.
Lots of birds under the bird feeder when our cat May is asleep.
And the squirrels seem to know she is not around the wood pile!
