Connie and I decided to take a drive up Sleepingchild road then take a forest service road over to the Rye Creek drainage. I had not been on that road since the 1960's! It has changed. Well, the scenery has changed somewhat because of forest fires but the road is basically the same - rough. It was good to get out of some of the smoke that has settled in our valley. We got to see a black bear when we were coming down the Rye Creek drainage. That was great.

Visibility was better up here than down in the valley. |

The bear was really watching Zeph. |
