We are in full spring work mode around here. Seems like there is so much to do during the spring season. And it seems that 60 acres is just tooooo much for the two of us to keep up at times. We have been burning and cleaning ditches to get ready for irrigating which will happen sooner than one thinks. Also did a lot of work on the arena to get it ready for jumping. The horses are all doing well. We have been riding quite a bit. Connie more than me of course. I have probably rode more so far this spring than I did all of last year.
Been seeing a lot of elk around here in the last week or so. Had them just a 100 yards from the house a couple of times. Riding yesterday we got to see a big herd up to the east of us. They are shedding and looking a little rough. It won't be long till we will see them break up into smaller groups and the cows will start calving. Of course the deer are always present. The weather has been typical for springtime in Montana. Snow, rain, sun, warm, cold, etc.

Me driving out of the arena with a lot of weeds we took out of there. We are getting it ready so Connie can start practicing jumping with Blu. |

Two elk right below house. The closest one is a bull and you can see the new antlers forming on his head. |

More elk pictures when we were out riding. |
