Sharon came to visit us this summer and we hope she had a good time. She has been up here a couple of other times and loves the little cabin she calls "her cabin" in Montana. We put her to work helping out with the patio addition. Also took her on a hike to the Bear Creek Overlook. A great hike that does not take all day to complete. We saw a lot of huckleberry pickers, and I have never seen so many huckleberries on the vine that I can remember. And it was a dry year. Goes to show you that what people say about what it takes to make a good berry crop might not be right after all! Connie and Sharon left Monday to head to Salt Lake City for their 40th High School Class Reunion. They took a couple of days driving down there as they went through Yellowstone Nation Park. A quick trip but Sharon had never seen the place so it was worth the time.
Sharon really likes to drive the tractor. Here she has a load of rocks for the patio we are working on.
Getting the fire ready for roasting a marshmallow?
This is also Zeph's first trip to Bear Creek Overlook. I am sure it will not be the last.
A really nice rock overlook.
If you click to enlarge, you can see the back of a squirrel that Zeph is watching run on the rock below.
An old dead snag that has been standing on the edge for years.
Having a little snack before heading back down.
That is the Bitterroot/Selway Wildrness area.
Lots of huckleberries this year.
Coming back down the trail.
This is a project that I have been working on for a few weeks now. It is a patio off our sliding door off the kitchen. Glad it is done.
