9 March 2021: We are
down in the Ajo area camped at our favorite spot the “Bandito” camp which is
where we had a problem with illegals years ago.
Gary and Georgine arrived a few days after we did. Been doing our walks and we are just amazed
at how dry it is down here. Many of the
leaves on bushes have all dried up and will just crumble in you hand. And absolutely have not seen any flowers!!
What a change from years past. Town has
not changed that much though. Many of
the ocotillo have a red or orange tint to them.
It did sprinkle a few drops last night but the drops quickly evaporated.
Have not hardly taken any pictures as
there no flowers or pretty sunsets since we have been here.
Our jeep’s computer said we have to get the oil changed
although the millage is not indicating that.
But we will. Will have it done in
Buckeye as we have to take Gary up there to get his truck which the Ford dealer
is working on. The pictures below were taken before we got to Ajo and when camped in the Harlaqualla Mountains. And just before that, we had a pretty good scare as we had a propane leak in the camper. Had to turn off the propane to the refrigerator until we could get it repaired. Found a mobile RV repair guy who did a great job in getting us back on the road. Much longer story but won't bore you with it.

You can see the palm trees in the little canyon.

If you look close, you can see the toy truck strapped down to this flatbed trailer. It is a trailer that hauls large equipment and the driver had it pulled off the road and was probably catching up on some sleep. Was probably headed somewhere to pick up a load and take it somewhere and has a great sense of humor!

Mitry Lake. We have kayaked this lake quite a few times. Lots of birds.

Got this same picture a number of years ago when Zeph was a little puppy. The vehicle is an Army land train.

This helmet in a saguaro was right by our camp.

Always some weird saguaros out in the desert.

Old beer cans opened up with "church keys" as we called bottle and can openers back in the day.

Just a saying on a board we found at our campsite.
