OUT ON THE RANGE AGAIN

We are back down to Gila Bend area at the AF Station.  Will be headed to the Tucson area tomorrow.  Yesterday we did another quick trip out to another area of the Range.  Also found some poppies just a 1/2 mile from our camp on a hillside.  And because we are updating the blog, we have internet service again.

Sunrise yesterday.

This hawk came in for a landing so smoothly.  We have been having a couple of bird experiences.  Connie had a Wilson's Warbler land on the arm of her chair as she was reading.  The male then came by and they flew down on the ground in front of us and hopped around for a while.  Of course no camera!  They are migrating north for the summer.

This is a tall saguaro.  I took this same picture two years ago.  Can't tell if it grew though.

There are a lot of tall saguaros among these rocks.

I took a number of pictures of this one two years ago when it was still alive and standing.  In fact, one picture hangs in our kitchen.
