Really had a lot of wind the last night at Lake Mead and were glad
we parked at the angle we did with the pickup facing into the wind. But sleeping was a little hard and not as
restful as you would like. Broke camp
and drove to Burro Creek Campground south of Wikieup, AZ. Nice BLM campground and Blue Herons are
building nests in the cliffs across the creek from our camp. The finches are in abundance in the creosote
bushes and singing for us. Also got to
see the largest concentration of Turkey Buzzards that I have ever seen - at
least 70 of them riding the updrafts just to the east of the campground. Must be getting ready to head north. Stayed 2 nights and checked the area out.
The bridge over highway 93 as seen from campground.
This is part of the 70 plus buzzards that were hanging on a current just east of the campground.
A finch by our camper window.
Another finch who sang a lot of songs to us.
Quite a sign as you enter the little town of Widieup.
