Greetings from Lake Mead. We are finally down where the temperatures
that do not require a polar fleece.
Although we arrived wearing them when we got here, they were easily
dispatched to the appropriate bag when we started walking around looking for a
campsite. We actually spent one night at Valley of Fire State Park before driving here to Lake Mead. We needed to dump our camper and get some water before going to Echo Bay on Lake Mead. It is much warmer here than in
Ely, NV and we both started on our spring sun tans this afternoon. Will try and go kayaking tomorrow if the
winds permit it. They were really
blowing today but forecast to get better tomorrow.
The next day!
Did not get to go kayaking today, but we did do some exploring
and will be moving our campsite north towards Overton to a place called
Stewart’s Point. Found a “primitive”
camping area that looks like it will work for us. Access to the lake is a little cumbersome,
but we will manage. Also went into
Overton and hit the grocery store for a few things. The campground here in Echo Bay is starting
to fill up tonight probably from the weekend crowd from Las Vegas.
Me installing the alternator.
The new alternator before putting on the belt. It went well considering I am no mechanic.
Campsite at Valley of Fire.
We had to get a picture of Zeph by "Zeke" rock. We now have three Australian Shepherds with a picture by this rock.
Zeph saying "just pick up the stick and throw it lady"!
Zeph had some company while retrieving sticks in the lake.
A familiar pose for this dog.
