We drove to
Roosevelt Lake with a stop in Globe for fuel and a few things at the Safeway
store there. Wanted to camp in our
favorite spot on Road 429, but someone was in it. So we went to Cholla campground and got a
spot. Went looking for an alternate and
found one, but it was all dirt and they are forecasting rain so that would not
work. Stayed in the campground for two
nights and it did rain – a lot. But our
overlook spot opened up and so we moved up there. What a great place. Went for a couple of walks and had some great
sunrises.
We used to put our kayak into the water here two years ago. The lake is less than 1/2 full right now.
