We have been doing a little more exploring around the Ajo area. Today we drove west on a BLM road (some of it was in a wash and some of it was a road!) towards the Cabeza Prieta Wildlife Refuge and then did some hiking. There sure is a lot of exploring to do around here. We also stopped in at the CP Refuge headquarters and got some more information and got permits to go out into the Barry M. Goldwater Bombing Range. Will explore some of that tomorrow. We have been out there numerous times but it is a big place.

The purple flower has a very distinct smell and not all that pleasant when walking through it. |

Over in the refuge the saguaros seem to be taller. |
