UPDATE 15 MARCH 2019

Been busy hiking and sight seeing. The desert is starting to warm up and we are certainly enjoying the warmer weather.  Still wear jackets in the morning on our walk though.

The early morning walks still require some gloves and a coat as you can see from this pictures.  She still wears shorts though and has a pretty good tan o her legs!

This is looking north to the old mine that started the town of Ajo many years ago.

This rock outcropping is called locomotive rock.

The cholla cactus is just about to really start to bloom.
Zeph sleeping through the morning news.

We really got some rain the other day.  Lots of puddles around.  And it was a lot cooler.

Some cactus tops.

This is the Organ Pipe cactus and right in the center is the start of a new arm.  It is only about the size of a quarter.

Rain with a big puddle in the road coming back from town.

Some dark clouds.

After the rain, some blue skies and we found this growth on a saguaro.

Out on the bombing range we found what remains of an old car.

The structure on the right is a storage tank that was used to water cattle many years ago.

Uh, Connie you are just a little short to look into the tank!

Owls clover in full bloom.

This structure used to be part of the wind mill.  The orange flowers are globe mellow.

Connie, G and GB's dog Bailey, and Zeph walking back to the vehicles.

A malformed pin cushion cactus on a hike.

A view of some of the bombing range.

Looks like a lot of geodes to me.

Another pin cushion.

Gary glassing for deer and pronghorns.

A lot of desert out there.

An old saguaro that has blown over.
