The last morning we were at Valley of the Gods we did a hike out in the BLM through a cow pasture and up a draw where the cattle get their water. It was about a 3 mile hike in before we finally found the water and Zeph was very happy.

The source of the water is a spring that runs down and over this ledge.

Had to come up this narrow slot to get to where we could see the spring.

There were a number of rocks colored like this and we think the red is petrified organic matter such as trees.
