Rained most of the night so we decided to go to Telluride and
do a little grocery shop as it is the closest town that would have the supplies
we need. It has been 38 years since
Connie and I have been in that town and oh what changes have taken place. We hardly recognized main street and could
not believe all the people there. Of
course we hit it on the Friday before a long weekend and they were having a
film festival there. Parking was crazy
and we could only find one grocery store.
But it had an espresso bar so that was great. But what surprised us the most was how the
area has been built up. It has the look
and feel of Park City we thought. They also had a farmer’s market going on so
we cruised through that. Did not buy one
thing. Both of us were getting hungry
but decided to drive back over on the other side of the mountain and had a beer
and hamburger at the Enterprise Bar and Grill in downtown Rico. The
pictures below will show you the difference.
Also took a drive up the road behind our campground. A pretty rough road, but we managed to get up
to the pass at 11,300 feet. Broke in the
4 wheel drive low range in our new jeep!!
