ROOSEVELT LAKE 1

18 March 2017:  Roosevelt Lake is getting fuller or the water is rising or maybe the drought is coming to an end.  Whatever it is, it is nice to see so much water in this lake!  We have not seen this much for many years.  It looks like to me that the water level is at the old dam level before they extended it higher.  If that is the case, then if the water is 63% percent of full the last 20 feet or so accounts for 37% of the water.   We had a great kayak today by crossing the Tonto River at the Bar X crossing in our vehicles and putting in over at Indian Point.  Have put in there a lot.  We got to paddle up where there is a rookery of cormorants and blue herons nesting in the trees.  Watched them building nests and many are already setting on eggs it looks like.
We are camped in an old camp we refer to as Gary’s camp because he is the one who showed us the campsite many years ago.  Don’t see any big 5th wheels or motorhome anywhere near us!

These are the views out our back door.

Our camp.
