THE EAST FORK OF THE BITTERROOT

Connie and I decided to take a little Sunday drive up the east fork of the Bitterroot and see what has been happening in that area.  We first drove up into what is called the French Basin and it is really some pretty ranch country.  Since we have had so much rain, driving on some of the forest roads was out of the question although we gave it a short try.  Then went on up the east fork to the Martin Creek area.  Saw a few deer and a lot of bighorn sheep.  Lots of wildflowers are in full bloom also.

Saw lots of lambs today.

Click to enlarge and you can see a number of lambs crossing the rocks.

This is the road we started up but turned around as the mud was really greasy and lots of ruts.

The French Basin.

A young mule deer buck.

Lots of pretty rocks with all kinds of lichens and moss.

Zeph always has to have a stick to play with.
