DESERT SUNRISE

Still hot and dry down here.  We went for a nice loop walk this morning that was just over 3 miles.  Will do that one again.  After breakfast, we went for a bike ride.  Connie is doing well riding her bike but still does not have all her strength back in her legs.  Her left knee is the weakest as that is the last one operated on.  I can really tell it when she is going uphill.  She used to be better than me when going uphill – now she lags a little behind.  There are some really good bike riding roads around here.  More when part of the area is not closed off though.

We hung around camp for most of the day and caught up on some reading.  I went for a nice long hike this afternoon.  It was in the high 80’s around here today, but with a nice breeze it did not seem that warm.

Talked to Bill Christie today and he is doing well after his hip replacement.  He will get the other one done in June.  He also told us of the news that friends of ours son (Drew Tabke) has won the Subaru World Freestyle Skiing championship.  I knew he was leading the pack, but had not heard the results from Snowbird.  Way to go Drew.

There is a hill just west of our camp that I have been watching the sunrises from.  Took my camera up with me this morning.

There are very few flowers down here this year and this fairy duster was a treat this morning our our walk.
