UPDATE 6 MAY 2017

Things have been moving pretty fast around here.  This is a busy time for us as the Corvallis American Legion puts on the annual Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day which I am heavily involved with.  So besides being busy with spring things around our place, we have been working on that as well.  And what a spring we are having.  I don't recall having such moisture and so much growth of native grasses and flowers (and weeds!!!!).  But that all seems to be changing as it is warming up and we have had to run our air conditioner a few times.  And a few spectacular thunderstorms have rolled through also.  We have had some company and that has been fun.

Dell continues to entertain us.

Ross and Brenda stopped by for a couple of days and we took them up to where Rock Creek comes into Como Lake.  Lots of water coming down the falls into the lake.

It is a great hike that we always enjoy taking folks on.

Lots of wildflowers out.

Brenda and Ross with the snow covered peaks that are really melting.

The trail was overflowing with water in a couple of places.  Had to bush whack to get around it.

Mike and Cheryl stopped by over Memorial weekend.  We met Mike in 1978 while driving up the Alcan Highway on our way to being stationed at Elmendorf AFB. He was driving home to Anchorage after just getting out of the Navy.  I was Mike's best man when they married 38 years ago!  It was great visiting with them again and catching up on what they have been doing.  And that is Annie their traveling partner in front of them.
