HIKING INTO HORSE TANK, ARCH TANK, AND GREY TANKS

We headed south of our camp to the southern end of KOFA to hike into some tanks that are sources for water for the wildlife in this area.  We had hiked into the Horse Tank area in 2005 and it has sure changed since we were there last.  The Arch and Grey tanks were new to us.  Zeph was really glad to get to the Grey Tank as it was big enough for him to take a little dip in.  And boy did he like that!

Off on another jeep road adventure!

The first horse tank.

You can see the water areas along the creek bottom.

Zeph could not understand why he couldn't go swimming here but the water was full of moss.

You can hike up the rocks for a long ways.

This is the first fairy duster bush we have seen with blossoms on it.

Lots of arms on this saguaro and arms upon the arms.

Some petroglyphs just down from the Horse Tank.

Some old and some not so old writing.

This cave was used by the Indians.

Holes to store water.

And a place to grind corn.

Zeph had a great time getting a stick out of this pool.

My two hiking partners!

The different rocks were pretty amazing.
