UPDATE 13 FEBUARY 2020

Just a few pictures that I have taken in the last few days.  We are still in the Quartzsite area and will be for a few more days.  Still doing some hiking every morning and made a run to the Yuma Proving Grounds which is an Army post and did some laundry and shopping.  Great little base.  I also got a haircut which I badly needed.  Very short.  More like a haircut when I first came into the Air Force!

The moon setting in the morning.

A very weird top to a saguaro cactus.

A sunset.

Some clouds with sunset colors.

We got some rain which we don't get to see very often when we are here.

Our campsite.

Just out of Yuma where it is a big agriculture area.  Lettuce is the crop here.

This is what a harvested lettuce field looks like.

These old trees always impress me.

This is the largest ocotilla we have ever seen.  The tallest and the branches were 5 inches in diameter.

The leaves on this ocotilla are turning because of lack of  moisture.

Pretty stark desert in some areas.  Zeph had a bad day when we were hiking in this area.  He got lots of cacti in his feet.

At the bottom of this cholla is a pack rats nest made out of cholla pieces.  No coyote is going to bother it when it is in this nest.

Another occotilla that is turning red.

A dead saguaro.
